National Print Awards Dinner announced

Alastair Hadley (pictured, right), chairman of the PacPrint 09 Board, and Scott Telfer (pictured, left), chairman of the 26th National Print Awards (NPA), said they were both confident that the two events would be mutually beneficial.

“The National Print Awards has been an integral part of PacPrint for many years,” said Hadley, “and we are delighted to once again be helping the NPA to promote the achievement of excellence, and to recognise those who achieve consistently high standards.

“The National Print Awards Presentation is an important addition to the PacPrint 09 calendar, and there will also be a display of entries in the MCEC concourse during PacPrint 09, giving all PacPrint visitors a chance to view the country’s most outstanding print jobs.

“Holding this celebration after the final ‘business day’ of PacPrint will give interstate visitors another sound reason to plan a visit to Melbourne for the show, and give all attendees a welcome chance to relax, catch up with friends and celebrate the achievements of the industry.”

Scott Telfer said that the Awards, with the new “best of the best” format in which all entries are category winners in their respective State-based Awards, will contribute to an enhanced PacPrint turnout.

“There are always sound commercial reasons to attend PacPrint, but the National Print Awards Presentation Dinner provides an opportunity for the industry to take time out, to recognise the exciting possibilities available in print today, and to congratulate those who achieve excellence in our field,” he said.

“Australian printers can hold their own with printers anywhere else in the world, so the entries in this year’s National Print Awards are of a truly international standard. The opportunity to view those entries, and to celebrate with the industry as we recognise the ‘best of the best’, is the perfect complement to the other highlights PacPrint 09 will offer.”
