Small businesses get marketing boost

The brainchild of Philippa Lowe (pictured), well known in the Australian printing industry for PR and marketing campaigns for companies such as Fuji Xerox and Adobe through her company Just Go Write, it is a series of tools and services called “The Boost Business with Testimonials Kit” and is available online.

The lack of any such resources for small companies was the motivating factor to devise the kit, according to Lowe.

“The power of great publicity and a glowing testimonial is priceless when it comes to attracting and closing sales. I receive calls and emails every day from people saying they want to grow their businesses, but they have a very small budget for publicising what they do. I wanted to find resources to help get their name up in lights and boost sales,” she said.

“I’ve been a small business owner myself; I know how challenging it can be. Books give you the knowledge, but don’t often provide the template where you simply ‘fill in the blanks’.”

“The Boost Business with Testimonials Kit” is a complete guide on how to gather and prepare testimonials from clients, including template letters and a word-by-word guide to writing a customer success story.

“Just half a dozen testimonials can fuel your e-zine, advertising, publicity, direct mail and website for a whole year. Imagine having the material to fuel your marketing for the next 12 months, for a smaller investment than a fortnight’s takeaway coffee!”

The DIY Publicity & PR Kit is a step-by-step tutorial on the best ways to conduct a publicity campaign. Lowe has included her own tried-and-tested strategies that have worked for large organisations and will work for any SME wanting publicity.

“I include scripts for calling journalists to pitch stories, so businesses learn how to approach the media with story ideas that don’t waste time,” said Lowe.

For those who wish to improve their PR and marketing savvy and develop a long-term campaign, Lowe has also released a “Gold Star PR Coaching Programme” which includes a copy of the DIY PR Kit, six one-hour group Q&A, and brainstorming follow-up sessions with Lowe herself. She will also help you edit your publicity pitches.

All products and courses are available for purchase at www.justgowrite.com.au/Coaching.aspx. Free chapters and content page downloads are also available.

Lowe has also written a special report revealing how businesses can implement free or low-cost publicity to generate revenue. It can be downloaded at no cost at www.justgowrite.com.au/Free Tips Final.html.
