Love him, like him or loathe him, Benny Landa represented one of the most interesting and intriguing personalities at drupa. For a lot of people, the Indigo-d is the closest thing we have to Apple’s Steve Jobs in the printing industry and the vast majority of drupa attendees were happy to be hypnotised and mesmerised as they entered the Willy Wonka world of printing – Nanography. A Love Story.

Demonstrations on the Landa stand were very popular and attended by thousands of attendees throughout drupa.

Landa v Offset – one of the key comparisons for Landa was the waste from the S11 machines after 1000 jobs vs offset.

Landa showed numerous galleries of prints including on uncoated paper as well as backlits.

Landa showed examples of prints on canvas as well as on coated paper.

The Landa S11P seven colour Digital B1 press was unveiled targeting the commercial printing, direct mail and publishing sectors at 11,200 sheets per hour.

The Landa S11 seven colour B1 machine was unveiled at drupa boasting 11,200 sheets per hour and targeting the folding carton, sign and display and commercial printing sectors.

There was nothing quite like the Landa marketing machine at drupa and the Benny theatre show – Nano. A Love Story – was a great example of how to launch a new printing technology.

Landa also announced the W11 machine with white ink specifically created for flexible packaging, although an operating machine was not present at the exhibition.
