ACT award ceremony overhaul

According to ACT regional manager of Printing Industries, Barry Neame, the awards committee is currently working with Canberra-based brand consultancy Niche Strategic Brand Communication, which will re-launch the event as the ‘PAGE Awards’ culminating in a gala dinner at The Hyatt Canberra Hotel on Friday November 10.

After 14 years of celebrating the achievements of the print, packaging and visual communication industry and its suppliers, it is a fitting decision to realign the awards ceremony with a rapidly changing national printing industry.

Neame says driving the overhaul initiative, is the need to generate new interest in the award’s relevance as well as to bring attention to the importance of the ceremony and its participating businesses to the ACT economy.

“The name stands for print and graphic excellence and aims to capture the imagination both of traditional print and new media professionals in a celebration of the collaborative client, agency, printer and supplier efforts that are required to deliver truly successful projects.” he says.

While the traditional award categories will still be offered, the re-vamped PAGE Awards introduces a range of new awards to reward innovation, environmental responsibility, partnerships and the special achievements of the industry’s young people.

As part of the re-engineering process a new corporate identity has been created by Niche Strategic Brand Marketing which will form the basis of all PAGE Awards branding.

The awards are hosted by Printing Industries Association of Australia and Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA).
