Adelaide printer brings finishing in-house with $40k spend

The digital printer, which is a subsidiary of IT reseller PC Range, spent $40,000 on finishing equipment including a Boway perfect binder, a folder, and various binding and laminating machines.

Printomatic manager Greg Birch (pictured) said the move came from frustrations with delayed turnaround times and cost overruns when using outsourced services.

“We are now one of the few on-demand printers that can offer full in-house services,” he said.

“On occasion, we’ve had to partially outsource orders, which has caused delays or cost overruns on jobs. Keeping everything in-house makes our service more cost-effective and gives us greater control over quality.”

Printomatic manages its large format work on Mimaki kit and also operates a Fuji Xerox 700 digital colour press.
