Agfa Graphics is launching a new version of its award-winning Apogee StoreFront cloud-based web-to-print software, aimed at wide format printers. The company says version 2.0 features support for variable data processing and documents of various sizes, and better facilitates business-to-business e-commerce. The software also integrates with Agfa’s Apogee Prepress and Asanti Production workflow solutions, avoiding double data entry.

Andy Grant, head of software with Agfa Graphics, says, “Apogee StoreFront is a prime example of how Agfa Graphics is taking its know-how in workflow automation and web portals to the wide format printing market. It is the most cost-efficient way for print service providers to take advantage of new technologies and market their services to a wider audience online.” Apogee StoreFront was recently recognised as the best web-to-print solution by the European Digital Press Association’s EDP awards. Its B2B features include personalised address books, support for custom domain names and the ability for business partners to partially approve or ship orders. Print buyers can also order sets of customised banners, flyers, business cards or other documents by uploading an Excel spreadsheet with contact, pricing and other content data through the software’s variable data processing function. Users can also define the size of the poster they order, and the software will calculate its price per square metre immediately – a feature which Agfa says offers increased flexibility for online orders in conjunction with Asanti Production for wide-format printers.
