Agfa updates Apogee software

Agfa Graphics has added business analytics and content correction to Apogee StoreFront software.

The company says it has aimed the software at print companies that want to use web-to-print to extend their service offering and reach new business-to-business markets.

Andy Grant, head of software at Agfa Graphics, says, “Our focus on the end-user experience goes beyond more refined controls and an easier reordering process.”

Apogee StoreFront 2.1 brings a series of new features centred around the print buyer experience. Agfa says Apogee StoreFront enables companies to customise a store so that individual users only see those products and categories that they need. It has application as a tool for setting up e-commerce stores for dealer or franchise channels as well as for large corporations that operate across various countries or markets.

This latest version also features support for Google Analytics. Agfa says this allows printers to fine tune their stores by monitoring buyer behaviour and conversion rates within a store, as well as the effectiveness of promotion campaigns on the web, social media or in print. The software has added a new order history search for print buyers, which simplifies the reordering, correction and customising process.

Grant adds, “We see that more than half of the items ordered in a web store are products that are personalised by the print buyers. Occasionally such customised business cards or posters may contain typos or other mistakes that need to be fixed with minimal overhead. Apogee StoreFront 2.1 makes it easy to do last-minute corrections, which will automatically be submitted to the prepress workflow. Such cost efficiencies are key in today’s competitive market.”

The company says that its Asanti StoreFront 2.1 has all the features in Apogee StoreFront 2.1. Asanti allows sign and display producers access to the same web-to-print interface with their customers. As cloud-based solutions, Apogee StoreFront and Asanti StoreFront offer entry into the web-to-print market and allow integration with the Apogee prepress and Asanti production workflow systems.
