Aldus takes on Codimag

As the agent for Toray Waterless Plates, which are used on Codimag’s Viva 340 waterless press, JL Lennard Graphics will continue to support existing clients and will provide technical support to Aldus as its expands this market.

With the appointment of Aldus by Codimag as their exclusive agent for Australia & New Zealand it gives Aldus the chance to offer a seamless range of label printing equipment to the local industry & existing installations across all categories of print production.

In recent years the Codimag brand from France has grown in acceptance around the world, including Australia where a new machine is due for delivery mid year, with their its model, called Viva, a versatile platform capable of producing very high quality with minimal waste compared to standard offset.

Screens of up to 300lpi are easily obtained on plates produced by tradition analog methods or CTP plates. With no ink water balance to deal with the amount of waste is reduced substantially but on top of that the consistency of print is superior because the operator has to deal with less elements hence greater continuity is achieved during the print run.

Not only can the Viva 340 produce some of the highest quality waterless printing the Codimag platform allows various print processes to be integrated such as letterpress, stork rotary screen, hot and cold foil, laminating, embossing, UV flexo varnishing and many other often called for embellishments.

With the Viva’s intermittent feed this means the printer does not need a huge range of print & die cylinders. It uses steel based photopolymer printing plates & flexible die plates all on magnetic cylinders but just because it’s an intermittent doesn’t mean it’s a slow press either. The Viva has a real top production speed of 50mpm.

If high quality and low runs are on your radar screen you should contact your nearest Aldus rep for more information on the Codimag Viva.
