Anderson & Vreeland Australia evolves into Avflex

Anderson & Vreeland Australia Pty Limited, established over two decades ago, is a key supplier of consumables and machinery to the flexographic printing, packaging and label industries.

Originally established to market and distribute Flexlight flexographic photopolymer printing plates, A&V successfully introduced and promoted Flexlight printing plates, until a decision was made by the manufacturer to open its own office in Australia.

A&V has continued to supply innovative products such as the market dominating R/bak cushion mounting systems, which utilizes a unique open cell urethane foam, that eliminates bounce, allowing faster press speeds and better image reproduction.

A myriad of other consumables such as Dr Blades, Mavelon Waterwash Plate for letterpress, Flexo 1 flexographic printing plates and a full range of solid and cushion mounting tapes are all available.

On comprehensive machinery list is also available, from prepress plate systems from Heights, France (formerly Global Graphics) to the latest Gearless CI flexographic printing press from OFEM, Italy and precision micro dot mounters from Eurograv, UK.

Avflex will always endeavour to bring the latest technology from around the world to Australia, such as the Zedmini direct laser engraving system from Zed Instruments in the UK, which is world leader in laser engraving technology.

The Zedmini produces digital flexographic printing plates by directly engraving the image onto a suitable flexo plate or seamless sleeve from a digital file, and once engraved no further processing is required. One of the many benefits of direct laser engraving is the ability to engrave below surface dots, which result in the printer achieving little or no dot gain.

Grogan Group chairman Arthur Grogan adds, ” The change in name from Anderson & Vreeland Australia to Avflex only reflects an evolving company reacting to an ever evolving industry, but the one thing that will never change is our commitment in supplying the best possible products and service to our clients.” This philosophy was established with the original Grogan family company in the early 1800s and will continue within all the Grogan family interests going forward.
