The showroom will house the latest in HP’s range of wide-format technology, including superwide-format industrial solutions and the broad range of HP Designjet solutions. The new HP Scitex FB950 flatbed printer and HP Scitex XP2700 printer were also launched at the showroom’s opening.

As the long-running exclusive distributor for HP Scitex in Australia, Anitech provides a range of specific benefits in expertise and resources to the local market, according to managing director Barry Grant. The investment in the showroom is evidence of the commitment that both Anitech and HP bring to the Australasian digital print and sign markets, he said. The new showroom enables printers to “test drive” HP Scitex industrial wide-format print solutions in a local facility.
Wide-format and inkjet printing, especially for signs and outdoor advertising, are the print sectors showing the most growth presently. HP’s Shane Lucas commented that HP Scitex sales are up by about 35 per cent per annum.
Demonstrations at the opening under the guidance of Anitech tech support’s Dave West also showed the solvent and pigment-based XP2700 printing large banners using the printer’s variable resolutions up to 635dpi on roll-fed media, although it is capable of printing on rigid media as well. It will print up to 110m per hour.
The FB950 was demonstrated printing corflute boards side-by-side, enabling higher productivity at up to 80m per hour. Previously printed samples included images on board, backlit screens on perspex and glass. The six-colour FB950 is designed to print using sheetfed, roll-fed and flatbed methods.
