Arron Wood announced as keynote speaker at FESPA Australia Annual Conference

FESPA Australia has announced that City of Melbourne former deputy lord mayor Arron Wood will be the keynote speaker for its annual conference, which will be held during the day of 3 November at the Shangri-la Sydney.

The ProPrint Awards commences later that evening from 6pm in the same venue.

A sustainable business expert, Wood now leads a team of clean energy policy experts as the Clean Energy Council’s chief policy and impact officer, helping drive Australia towards 100 per cent renewable energy.

He was named among the Top Ten Education Leaders nationally in 2009 by The Weekend Australian Magazine. In 2020 Wood was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for significant service to local government, the environment and the community.

As the 2007 Prime Minister’s Environmentalist of the Year Award winner, Wood has spoken passionately about the need for Australian businesses to be at the forefront of the new green economy to secure the nation as an environmental knowledge and technology leader.

Whether it is advising 700 local government executives from around the world on how to see sustainability as an opportunity or speaking at the National Business Leaders Forum on ‘Re-calibrating the Risk From Climate Change’, Wood’s understanding of the space, coupled with his global experience on sustainability issues, results in the constant demand for his talents across a wide variety of industries, community groups and government organisations.

Wood is also the founder and managing director of environmental communication and education consultancy business Firestarter. He initiated and runs the highly successful Kids Teaching Kids Program for students from around the world which has attracted $30 million in funding over the life of the project (single-handedly raised by Wood) and seen 135,000 students participate in the program.

The FESPA Annual Conference will bring together leading industry experts, suppliers, business owners and future leaders for a program packed with exceptional presenters, interactive panel sessions, global live streaming and so much more for 2023.

Offering insights and inspiration, there will be increased networking opportunities where attendees will have the chance to meet with thought leaders and industry leaders and industry experts who are already developing and demonstrating sustainability, leadership and other innovative practices to guide print companies to a better future.

The conference is proudly sponsored by Orafol – Diamond Sponsor, Gold Sponsors Ball & Doggett, Durst and Visual Connections, Silver Sponsors Kissel & Wolf and Cactus Imaging and Bronze Sponsor, HVG Graphics.
