
Enviro Print took out top spot in the brochures category, with Dashing Print the winner in the Direct marketing category. Integrated Mailing Servies was runner up in that award, with Condor second in Cards and Invitations.
There were 29 categories attracting 220 entries form every country in the region. Fuji Xerox established new categories for Menus and Digital Proofing, in addition to separating three double-categories into standalones ones; these include Brochures and Catalogues, Posters and Point of Sale Materials, Calendars and Photo Books.
Beyond sole assessment on print quality, the independent judges used a five point criteria comprising print quality, appropriate use of digital technology, innovation, business effectiveness and overall aesthetics to arrive at the results.
Australian industry identity and former Heidelberg sales director Alf Carrigan was one of the PIXI judges. He says, “Once again, both the number of entries and the quality continue to improve. I have witnessed monumental changes with the emergence of digital print and its growing importance in the market. There was a time when digitally printed materials were distinct, but by evaluating the Pixi categories over the last five years, it is now difficult to tell the difference.”
