Aussie label trio take out global awards

Australian label businesses Ultra Labels, Collotype and Multi-Colour all took out gold in the annual global label awards, which were judged at Labelexpo.

Held under the auspices of the L9 group of label associations, which includes Latma from this part of the world the awards recognise brilliant printing in 22 different categories. Chairman of the judges Tony White described the winning labels as ‘exceptional’.

There were a total of 37 winners and honourable mentions, with Australian label printing shown to be amongst the best in the world with its three golds, and also three honourabkle mentions.

Queensland’s Multi-Colour took gold in the flexo colour process category, Collotype Griffith won gold in combination (digital and flexo) wine and spirits, while Ultra Labels took gold in digital printing.

Honourable mentions went to WA’s Wedderburn labels in Flexo wine and spirit, to Labelworld in offset colour and to Collotype Labels in offset wine and spirits.

Five new L9 global awards representing the Best of the Best will be presented later in the year, with these selected from the winners of the L9 World Label Awards competition within the following classes: flexo, letterpress, offset litho, combination and digital.
