Aussie outfit takes global leadership award

Direct Mail and Marketing International has won an international award for its print and cross media direct marketing web-to-print software that simplifies the print ordering process for franchise owners.

DMMi’s system, continuously developed over the past four years, received the Xcelence Award at the 2013 XMPie Users Group Conference in California over entrants from around the world.

The software is based on XMPie, a data publishing and customer databases program, and enables clients to order and pay for any printed materials, such as point-of-sale advertising, direct mail campaigns, vouchers, and membership materials, via using a single sign-in from their company’s intranet.

Franchises can order from a catalogue of products chosen by head office, select any number of customisation options, and have the materials delivered to them directly once payment is received.

DMMi managing director Fred Humphery says: “We spent several months just researching the many W2P solutions available and discussed with our clients the specifics of what is key and critical in regards to a successful web based integrated print and direct marketing solution for each of their businesses.”

Software and marketing senior manager Andrew Humphrey says the system seeks to simplify the ordering process as much as possible by automating many processes and provides a real world solution no one else thought was possible.

“We’re well ahead of the curve in what we’ve been able to achieve because all the features we and others need aren’t there,” he says. “XMPie is good, but a lot of tech companies make software with really knowing what users need.”

“We’re the ones on the ground dealing with clients and knowing what’s needed.”

Humphrey says DMMi wants to stay at the top of the market and so needed something like this to add value to its brand and provide better outcomes for its clients.

“If you don’t move with the times you become the past,” he says. “You have to be different to stand out from the crowd.”
