Aussies enjoy supa drupa barbeque

This year’s event was a hit, not least because of the stunning location – a traditional beer hall in Monchengladbach – and because the barbeque itself was top notch, unlike some previous attempts, with plenty of tucker to go round.

There was no Tooheys of VB available, but the German Alt or Weiss beer was appreciated by those present, although there were more than a few Aussies who insisted the two centimetre head be dispensed with and replaced with actual beer.

Entertainment was that peculiarly Germanic brand of badly interpreted classic pop songs, but the top floor terrace setting on what was a beautiful warm evening rendered any dodgy vocals irrelevant.

And for those Aussie printers that were unable to make it in time fear not, the whole schaboodle will run again next Sunday, June 8
