Australian Catalogue Association launches 2009 industry awards

The 18th annual event will take place at Atlantic in Melbourne’s Docklands area, with entries set to close at the end of April and judging slated to take place during May.

With up to 34 awards up for grabs – including Catalogue Agency of the Year and the Effectiveness Award – Australian Catalogue Association chief executive Chris Lee-Brown is expecting as many as 700 entries to be submitted by the industry.

“The Australian Catalogue Awards is the premier industry event of the year,” said Lee-Brown. “The Awards event is the recognition of the credentials of printed catalogues as the most effective direct marketing medium available to retailers.”

Entries will be assessed by a panel of experts drawn from advertising agencies and retailers, and judged on factors such as the impact of covers, photography, merchandising, styling, branding, design, layout, copywriting and selling power.
