Autobond to release entry level laminator

Autobond is looking to grow significantly in 2013 following a successful 2012, which was thanks to the strong interest of their machines at drupa last year, particularly in its spot UV technology .

Graph-Pak is the distributor of Autobond in Australia, Tom Ralph, managing director, Graph-Pak told Australian Printer, “Graph-Pak sold seven machines at drupa into the Australian market, and they are all installed now.  There was a range of laminating machines, mainly model Mini 76 TPH and Mini 105 TPH.  We have now also installed the new LED digital spot UV inkjet presses from Autobond and have a further two of these machines currently on their way here. “

Ralph says, “These machines offer fantastic benefits by lowering power consumption, ease of operation, low maintenance.  A more profitable bottom line is achieved due to no plates.”

John Gilmore, managing director, Autobond, says, “Since last year’s drupa – which was our eighth as an exhibitor and our best ever in both level of interest and number of sales – our plant has been running non-stop. What has been most pleasing is the number of existing customers that have invested in their second or third Autobond machines. I sold a laminator to US customer Joe Tardie Senior at Presentation Folder in Los Angeles 20 years ago, which is still running today. My son Oran then sold them their second laminator to his son, Joe Tardie Junior.

Ralph continues, “The majority of the customers we spoke to in 2012 and since have been extremely interested in inkjet spot UV varnishing – it really captures the imagination.
