Barry Lathan New Encad CEO

Lathan brings with him a wealth of leadership experience in the wide format industry where most recently he was founder and CEO of Xerox ColorgrafX Systems. Lathan enjoyed a successful 30-year career with Xerox, starting in sales/marketing positions and eventually assumed responsibility for the Western United States as the area vice president. His ability to provide vision and strategic thinking moved him up through the corporation to the position of Vice president and general manager of Xerox Engineering Systems and on to leading the XCS team in a new growth market. Lathan obtained his BS in Business Administration from Ohio State University and completed the Executive Marketing Management Program at Stanford University.

The appointment of Lathan is a result of a reorganisation recently announced at Kodak to realign its operations and leadership team to pursue growth opportunities in commercial and consumer markets.

Encad is now part of the new Commercial Printing Division, along with Kodak Polychrome Graphics, NexPress and Digital Asset Management – all businesses that focus on the digital aspect of the commercial printing market.

Jim Langley, President of the new Commercial Printing Division says, “Digitally-driven commercial printing is a large and growing market, and is a core part of our long-term vision to drive revenue and earnings growth.

“Kodak has the assets and competencies to be a leader in this market, with our portfolio of intellectual property of printing technologies, our Encad subsidiary, and our NexPress and Kodak Polychrome joint ventures. These will be the foundation of
Kodak’s on-demand color printing and network publishing efforts. With this reorganisation Encad becomes even more relevant to Kodak’s future.
