Brebner joins Pacific Print Group

The merger with Brebner Print has added around $40 million in turnover, taking Pacific’s total turnover past the $100 million mark. Brebner Print’s 181 staff take the total staff of Pacific Print Group to 446 staff.

An Australian printing firm is the next in the Group’s sights, with the National Business Review reporting last week that it will seek up to $40 million through a capital notes issue.

Pacific Print Group is believed to be looking at a share float within the next two years.

The Group’s chairman, Geoff Wilding was quoted in The Dominion Post as saying that there are one or two more opportunities [for acquisition] in New Zealand and the company would then start looking at Australia.

He also said there was more scope for rationalisation in New Zealand’s printing industry.

Wilding claimed that the acquisition of Brebner Print meant that Pacific Print Group is now the largest exclusively sheetfed commercial group in the country.
