“This demonstration is one example of Canon and Océ’s technologies already working together, and as the integration progresses, the two companies will jointly plan for further combinations of production print workflows, both in hardware and software,” said a joint statement.
The vendors pointed to the C7000VP and Océ’s VarioPrint 6230 Ultra as an example of “complementary products”, adding that they would “work together at Ipex to ensure Océ customers can purchase ImagePress C6000 and C7000VP machines”.
Product integration has already begun in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) sector.
“Canon products will be launched in the Océ sales channels over the course of the second half of this year, and Océ products will be launched in the Canon channels within a similar timeframe.”
Canon’s acquisition of Océ, first announced in November last year, was finalised in March.
Meanwhile, InfoTrends has named Océ as the global sales leader for continuous-feed colour machines.
The study, which used placement data in inkjet and toner-based technologies, estimated that Océ has a market share of 26%, followed by Xeikon with 19% and Ricoh with 17%.
