Canon and VoPP hit the road

Canon is in the midst of a national roadshow with Two Sides Australia to show off its kit and industry research to help printers get an edge.

The tour, which completes its first leg in Perth today, uses the same coffee theme as its PrintEx15 stand to demonstrate the applications of Canon machines to printers who did not attend the show.

Called ‘Ideas to Stimulate Your Print Business’, it will also include presentations by Two Sides Australia executive director Kellie Northwood on the findings of the Value of Print and Paper (VoPP) research.

Canon senior marketing manager Dale Hawkins says the applications possible using the manufacturer’s new machines can be used to create high-margin revenue streams, making VoPP a ‘perfect backdrop’.

“The events open with Kellie sharing the results of the VoPP research, which tells us print is still a welcome, effective, and irreplaceable part of the multi-channel communications mix,” he says.

“From a marketing perspective, print is effective and delivers real results, and on a creative level, it offers myriad options that can’t be replicated by digital or electronic channels.”

Kit on show includes the ImagePress digital cutsheet printers, Arizona flatbeds, Océ ProCut, ColorWave and Seiko SII ColorPainter wide-format printers, ONYX and Fiery rips, and workflow and imaging supplies, depending on the state.

“Complementing this product display, the company will set up a real world production environment at each location, demonstrating solutions which can help add value – and margin – to print,” Hawkins says.

The dates are: Adelaide August 4-5, Brisbane August 25-27, Melbourne September 1-3 and Sydney September 22-23.
