Canon appoints managing director for Océ

Canon Australia has made Craig Nethercott the new managing director at Océ Oceania, following its decision to transition the print production group to Océ Australia from January.

Canon says Nethercott will be instrumental in continuing to strengthen Océ’s comprehensive suite of products and professional printing services, and driving a cohesive team to build on Océ’s history of innovation and client servicing.

Nethercott says, “I look forward to commencing my role at Océ in Australia, continuing the company’s growth trajectory and ensuring our customers’ needs remain at the heart of our business. I am particularly passionate about ensuring my colleagues at Océ are empowered to collaborate and innovate, driving new digital and production printing technologies.”

Nethercott joins Océ in the Oceania region with more than 17 years’ experience in the print industry, having held several senior positions in Canon and Océ in the UK where he worked across various business functions including sales, services and marketing.

Nethercott began his career in the production printing industry, and was previously director of the Commercial Print Group at Canon UK and Ireland for more than four years – focusing on cross-functional capabilities, talent development, and strategic planning.

Anton Schaaf, CEO and President of Océ says, “Australia and the wider Oceania region is a strategically important market for us. With nearly two decades of valued experience across the business, Craig will play a pivotal role in delivering strong results while continuing to put our customers and employees at the centre of what we do.”

Nethercott will begin his tenure officially on October 1, however, from now he will spend time setting up this organisation, making decisions for its future and working alongside the Canon Australia team to ensure a smooth transition for customers and employees.
