Balance 3.0 – formerly known as Velocity Balance – maximises production capacity by managing multiple print devices as a group. For example, the software can send just the colour pages from a job to the colour printers and all other pages to black and white devices.
It can split a long job across every available machine for faster printing. It can even automatically select the fastest available printer for priority jobs and the most cost-efficient printer available for all others.
Steven Brown, Canon Australia PAGA product manager, says, “With Balance 3.0, print centres can minimise their hardware investment and maximise their print output by simply adjusting the number of devices in their fleet to meet their needs.
“There are many operations that would not be served well by investing in one enormous printing press that far exceeds their volume needs but provides far less flexibility than this elegant program. The Canon Print On Demand strategy is about meeting the real business needs of savvy printers, even if this means that our solutions will cost far less than the alternatives.”
Balance 3.0 provides new tools for processing jobs automatically with a single job ticket and for centralising the management and distribution of jobs across multiple printers. It is designed to enable print managers to quickly and easily build lengthy jobs that contain inserts, tabs and merged files from digital sources or scanned hard copies.
