Canon brings power to monochrome production printing

This is the flagship of a range of four new models with print speeds from 86 to 105 prints per minute.

To meet the high demands of the production market, the iR7105 produces 105 pages per minute. It offers a higher monthly production capability than its predecessors, faster data processing speeds and improved document handling.

True to Canon’s commitment to the professional marketplace and product innovation, the iR7105 also comes with an in-line perfect binder, an industry first that no other manufacturer currently offers on a system in this class.

The modular design of the iR7105 means there is scope to add a wide range of finishing options, including stapling, folding, saddle stitching, insertion and trimming, thereby addressing the diverse demands of today’s black & white production printing market.

There is also a 5000 sheet high-capacity stacker with a removable trolley to transport the output to the next process, and a professional hole-punching module with interchangeable punch tools.

As a result of this modular design, Canon can now offer pre-set system configurations that are tailored to meet the demands of production sectors within the on-demand printing, production and publishing environment. Alternatively, customers can build the product configuration best suited to their individual business requirements.

“With powerful and flexible options such as the ability to do in-line perfect binding without slowing the production rate, the Canon imageRUNNER iR7105 will enable commercial printers, quick printers and printroom managers to focus on providing new services to their customers, rather than on the unnatural limits which can be created by some hardware,” says Steven Brown, market segment manager, production and graphic arts, Canon Australia.

“The imagePRESS and the imageRUNNER iR7105 are the final links in Canon’s whole-of-business strategy, which focuses on helping printers to solve customer problems with best-of-breed services, hardware and software, instead of simply encouraging them to buy hardware in the hope that customers will follow.”

To ensure optimum system productivity, the iR7105 comes with a choice of powerful RIP controllers for different print environments, which compliments Canon’s suite of document management solutions to streamline production workflow and reduce job turnaround times.
