Canon partners with Seiko

Canon has entered into a partnership with Seiko I Infotech and will supply, service and support the Seiko ColorPainter wide format printers in Australia. Canon says its aim to supply the highest quality solutions in the wide format market has encouraged the company to go into this venture, which it says will give Canon customers a wide range of products and services.

The Seiko ColorPainter printers are solvent based, and fit in the market gap between the high end flatbed UV Ocè Arizona product and the Canon imagePrograf range, enabling Canon to service the entire market. Thomas Mckerrow Canon’s Display Graphics product manager says, “In the roll-fed eco-solvent category, the Seiko ColorPainter series is widely recognised as best in class, and therefore a fitting addition to the high standard of the Canon and Ocè wide format portfolio. “We have made this important addition to our portfolio after a long and extensive evaluation process.” Adrian Morris, manager of Canon Display Graphics, says Canon’s interest in partnering with Seiko is in line with its philosophy of helping customers find ‘new and exciting ways to grow their business in wide format’. Morris says, “It is this partnership with our customers that allows them to step into other applications and diversify their business with us. “Our customers recognise we are a technology partner that continually invests in expanding our portfolio. The partnership with Seiko allows us to continue building on this relationship with our customers to provide high quality solutions and services in the sign and display market.” Canon service manager Cialan Shine says, “Our service teams are committed to providing the same exceptional passion and dedication to the Seiko ColorPainter range as our own Oce Arizona UV flatbed printers.” Shine says supported by warehousing facilities across the country, customers that purchase Seiko from Canon will not only have the benefit of local supply of ink, ‘but also have access to Canon’s consultancy on media and applications’.
