Canon seeks 20 per cent share of digital printing market in five years

Making it clear that Canon intends to compete head-to-head with Fuji Xerox and Kodak GCG in the high end digital colour market, the company is expecting to generate sales in excess of US$880m over the next two to three years.

A Canon spokesperson told the Nihon Keizai newspaper that the company is forecasting double-digit growth in the segment and that a major product launch due later this year would compete in the mid-range of commercial digital printing systems.
