Canon’s day in the sun

Canon supported Planet Ark’s National and School Tree Day, with employees getting on their hands and knees to plant trees at a wildlife reserve in Ryde, Sydney.

Yusuke Mizoguchi, managing director, Canon Oceania attended the event, and planted trees side-by-side with Canon Australia employees, later giving an address while everyone wound down with a bbq.

“This was a great opportunity for Canon to demonstrate our respect for the environment, which brings to life our corporate philosophy of Kyosei, meaning living and working together for the common good.

“Being part of the annual Tree Day planning initiative is very important to all of us at Canon Australia, and really brings to life our company values of contributing to positive change.

“I look forward to returning to see how they have grown.”

Janet Leslie, sustainability manager, Canon Oceania says, “The Canon planting initiative to commemorate Tree Day is an activity that I enjoy every year. Not only does it allow us to get our hands dirty for a good cause and spend quality time with colleagues across the business, but each year we can see the growth in earlier planting areas and see the ongoing difference it makes to the local community.”

Australian Printer attended the event, check out our gallery tomorrow for photos.
