CanPrint wins another $300,000 of Federal Budget printing work

The Canberra printer has handled the printing, collating and secure distribution of Department of Treasury publications since 2007.

A Treasury spokesperson told ProPrint the department had exercised a four-month option in order to fill a gap until the new contract began.

CanPrint was also rewarded for “[meeting] our specific printing needs for Budget and Budget-related documents”.

Tender documents will be issued before the end of May with CanPrint’s extension due to end on 30 June. Treasury said it was too early to say whether the new contract would be ready to start on 1 July, but wouldn’t reveal if CanPrint would be given another extension if it wasn’t.

The spokesperson wouldn’t comment on the length or specific terms of the new contract, except to say it would again involve printing, collating and secure distribution.

CanPrint general manager Sam Holden said the company wasn’t in a position to discuss the contract.

The Treasury success follows a $1.5 million contract extension CanPrint recently signed with the Australian National Audit Office and a prominent campaign that saw the company print special Valentine’s Day cards for the Prime Minister and other leading politicians.
