CJ King leaves Perth for Gold Coast

Trade printer CJ King has closed its Perth operation and moved the entire business to its new factory on the Gold Coast, after 22 years in WA.

The company cited pressure from mining on the manufacturing sector, including printing, and its increasing market size from the east coast markets, and from New Zealand, which now account for 65 per cent of business, for its decision to shut the Perth premises for good.

The new 1200sqm facility at Biggera Waters already operates the dedicated digital operation, built around a four-colour HP Indigo 7000 and a six-colour Indigo 5500, will now house the company’s main offset press trucked over from Perth – an eight-colour Heidelberg A2 long perfector, along with finishing equipment.

The company will continue to prioritise its existing WA client base, despite no longer having any local presence there, and will absorb any additional distribution costs.
