The updating of the standard gives users an opportunity to create added value and improvements in their operations by focusing on the main processes within their organisation. One aim was to better reflect the way in which businesses are run, while another was to include the need to measure customer benefit and satisfaction.
Christer Söderberg, who is responsible for quality and environmental affairs at Iggesunds Bruk says, “We regard the inclusion into the standard of documentation about customer satisfaction as a very positive step. Of course we previously had methods of inputting customer feedback into our production process, but the fact that it is now part of the ISO standard means that customer satisfaction is now a more natural part of our daily quality work.”
All Iggesund Paperboard mills are already certified in accordance with the ISO 14001 environmental management system.
