Trade printer CMYKhub will this year offer template-driven design solutions with its free web to print system, making it easier for customers to design their own print collateral and send it straight to the printer. After two years considering its options with template-driven design, the company has secured the Australian distributorship of US-developed online design software MyCreativeShop (MCS). Clive Denholm, founder of CMYKhub, says the software will allow customers to choose and edit templates and help small businesses to create marketing material and stationery for a low cost.
Denholm says, “The challenge with online templates is to have good content; we have all seen high profile sites that carry design templates that look like cheap clip art. I felt that MyCreativeShop managed to incorporate quality design and developed a really smooth interface with full access to the Fotolia photo library. This will be an exciting time for our reseller network.” The trade printer is currently tailoring the MCS service for the Australian market. True to its wholesale supplier form, the template design site will only be available via the 500 reseller sites currently using its web to print software. Jason Frueh, president of MyCreativeShop, says, “We are excited about choosing CMYKhub as our Australian partner. After visiting their operations we knew this was going to be an excellent fit. We liked the trade only model and the complete focus on improving the value of the resellers’ business. We expect this to add not only immediate value but to be a product that continues to evolve based on CMYKhub’s resellers’ specific needs. We plan to develop content specific to the resellers’ needs and to grow the template library considerably over time. It’s a long term win-win approach.” CMYKhub launched its web to print solution at PacPrint, and since has garnered 500 resellers for its free web to print system; which gives printers the option to pass on work to the trade printer. The company has printing hubs in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory – allowing next day delivery for key products to the capital cities.
