Complete Colour buys BD Graphics

This acquisition is a key strategic decision for Complete Colours' Directors Tim Michaelides and Geoff Lawyer. Michaelides says, "Consolidation within our industry is not the exclusive realm of the big players. Over the last 15 years our business has grown purely organically. Our primary focus has been on building a profitable platform from which to implement our next phase of growth and the continual development of the Complete Colour Printing brand."

To accommodate this acquisition Complete Colour's Cheltenham plant has been extended, effectively doubling the productive floor space available for additional prepress, digital printing, pressroom and finishing equipment. Both directors believe that the BD Graphics acquisition will broaden the client base and will produce synergies through the combination of two experienced and highly-skilled teams.

Lawyer says, "We look forward to integrating the clients and staff from both companies within the Complete Colour operations. "We are confident that this union will strengthen our market position and present us with fantastic opportunities to continue growing the business."

Complete Colour was established in 1992. Over the last 15 years it has grown into a successful digital and offset printing business, now employing 50 staff

Complete Colour Printing has been named as a finalist in the 2007 Victorian Panasonic Australia Business Award. Tim Michaelides says "It is a great to be evaluated and identified as a progressive company, it validates our continuous improvement activities over the last few years.

"A few years ago we also realised that the environmental impact of business operations was going to be a major driver in the future. Today, we are an organisation that takes responsibility for our environmental impacts, and have in place systems that actively manage our journey towards being a sustainable business."

.Some of Complete Colour's environmental initiatives include a three year commitment to plant 6,000 trees-in Heatherton's Karkarook Park, the use of vegetable based inks, a rigorous waste management systems, water and emission reduction strategies, recycling technologies and client support with sourcing environmentally responsible paper.
