FUJIFILM Business Innovation confirms restructure

FUJIFILM Business Innovation has confirmed recent staffing reductions and outlined its ‘journey of transformation’.

In a statement provided by the corporate communications team at FUJIFILM Business Innovation, staffing reductions were confirmed, however, a specific number of employees was not confirmed.

Sprinter understands that approximately 80 people have left FUJIFILM Business Innovation over the last 30 days and approximately 200 employees have departed the organisation over the last 12 months. The total number of employees in the organisation is estimated to be over 1000 a year ago.

“FUJIFILM Business Innovation Australia can confirm [it] has reduced the number of employees in the past month. While it is not in our policy to disclose specific numbers of impacted employees, we can confirm this is a single digit percentage,” the statement said.

“We cannot comment on the specific individuals impacted out of respect, but we can confirm these workforce changes are spread across all divisions in the organisation. The reductions were subject to formal consultations with employees and their respective representative bodies. Transition support has been and continues to be provided to all impacted employees.”

FUJIFILM Business Innovation and FUJIFILM Australia are separate companies and Sprinter understands there are no plans at this stage to change this structure.

A second statement was supplied to Sprinter from FUJIFILM Business Innovation chief marketing officer, Dan Smith.

“These changes to our workforce come after a number of exhaustive reviews to recalibrate our resourcing in line with the next phase of our company’s strategy to sustainably grow our device technology offerings and realise the vast potential of our solutions and services,” Smith said in the statement.

“We’re taking every effort to work with, and support, impacted individuals to understand their unique circumstances and, where possible, explore new opportunities and roles that align with skills and expertise.

“While the changes have seen a number of individuals depart the business, we have many open vacancies, which is reflective of the recalibration we are going through to deliver the next generation of digital technologies across all the industries are operate in.

“Our focus on growing our indirect partnerships is guided by customers’ preferences in how they would like to connect to our products, services and solutions. We are continuing to focus on bringing new offerings, including graphics and communications to Australian businesses as part of our business strategy for the long term.

“This will be highlighted by our biggest ever presence at Drupa, which will bring together al our FUJIFILM graphics businesses to accelerate our presence in the market and to deliver our solutions and services for customers in the best way possible for the long term.”

“Like for any business re-evaluating their resourcing requirements, these decisions are always difficult. But we have confidence this is the right move to support the next phase of our journey to continue delivering Australian businesses the market leading innovation and value we are known for throughout the world.”

A third statement was also received titled: ‘FUJIFILM Business Innovation is on a journey of transformation’.

“We are proud to call ourselves a leader in the printing and graphics market. As a core part of our business, we are committed to our high-quality devices and graphics services being available in every state and territory across Australia,” the third statement said.

“This includes the new devices and graphics services that we will be launching throughout this year and beyond.

“At the same time, our company’s evolution is being driven by key geopolitical factors such as the maturity of the Australian printing market, new ways of working and business environments, and rapid movement in the digital transformation space among many others.

“But for us, providing the best customer experience with our world-renowned offerings remains at the core of everything we do.

“This is why one of our key focuses is increasing our partnerships with our highly valued dealers, resellers, distributors and other alliances to connect customers with our offerings, especially our device technologies and graphics services.

“We’re taking those partners on this journey of growth with us so we can provide FUJIFILM Business Innovation solutions to the community for the long term with their highly experienced teams and unique expertise.
