DAMAP conference to address digital asset management agenda

The conference which is the first of its kind in Australia, was successful last year with over 100 delegates participating, and it is hoped that this year’s conference will continue to help develop solutions to the growing Digital Asset Management (DAM) industry.

DAMAP 2006, will feature six international and 21 national speakers who will focus on the benefits of DAM to businesses and address the issues outlined in the Federal Government’s Digital Content Action Agenda (DICTA), released last month.

Because digital asset management represents a new and rapidly growing field, case studies and discussion on emerging trends, issues and challenges facing the industry will be presented, allowing delegates to clearly identify what action needs to be taken within the industry.

Of particular interest will be the problems of intellectual property rights, e-commerce, workflow, system management and other pitfalls associated with management of digital assets today.

Keynote speaker at the 2006 conference, chief executive officer of Canton Inc, Jennifer Neumann, says, the Federal Government’s recent endorsement of the Digital Content Action Agenda is good news for the digital content industry.

“This document and especially the fact that it is issued by the government, is a sound endorsement of the digital asset management market, which manages all the assets the digital content industry commercialises.”

Among the key sponsors of the event are Digital Quay and DataBasics, two companies that specialise in providing digital solutions consultancy and technology for the printing industries.

DataBasics is the distributor of a range of software solutions for creative business users. They provide industry strength products including the highest performance file servers, print spoolers, OPI servers, colour management, PDF workflow, archival and digital asset management solutions.

Digital Quay is Australasia’s largest, specialist digital content management consultancy and technology supplier.
