DES has been an EFI proofing solution distributor for 10 years and is now also an EFI significant partner for Vutek superwide digital inkjet printers, Rastek UV wide format inkjet printers, Jetrion industrial inkjet printing system and the Digital StoreFront, a print-centric e-commerce solution.
The EFI Innovation Centre will cover e-commerce products such as Digital StoreFront, commercial and industrial printing solutions such as the Jetrion full-colour digital label press, the Fiery XF and Colorproof XF range of colour management software right through to large format and superwide format UV solutions.
The Innovation Centre has been established to demonstrate EFI’s ‘vision’ of delivering increased value to their customers by achieving high productivity using EFI’s experience in digital delivery and scheduling of jobs, automation of colour management and workflows combined with best in class hardware. With market sector lines blurring rapidly between commercial print, display graphics and print-for-pay, the Innovation Centre will demonstrate total solutions to customers so they can maximise the new opportunities presenting in the marketplace.
Ian Clare, managing director of DES says, “We are delighted to further strengthen our relationship with EFI. We have worked extensively with EFI over the last 10 years and this partnership is a logical step to providing a wider Asia Pacific regional service and increased customer satisfaction”
Ramin Kazemi managing director of EFI for the Asia Pacific, says, “DES shares our vision of adding value and has a strong history of successfully introducing and supporting digital technology into the graphic arts markets. We are very pleased to be expanding this partnership of our world class digital printing and UV printer solutions.
The new partnership means that DES is looking to recruit a whole team, including sales manager, sales staff in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, and engineers. Russell Cavenagh, sales director at DES says, “This is a good news story for the industry, for EFI customers and for DES. We will build a dedicated team, which will solely service the EFI range of products. Ata time when spome are talking in terms of contraction our expansion serves as a signal that with the right focus and technology there is plenty of good business for printers.”
There are already more than 40 EFI wide format printers installed in Australia. For DES winning the EFI contract adds a fourth pillar to its business, with display graphics now joining graphic arts, CAD and packaging in the DES portfolio.
