GBC Australia scores MGI distribution deal

MGI has been distributed by The Digital Impressions Group, which is still aiming to work with GBC, although details have yet to be worked out.

The MGI digital presses are manufactured in France, and designed to print on a wide variety of substrates including paper, card, plastics and magnetic surfaces. Included in the range are the Meteor DP60 and DP40 Pro presses, PunchCard Pro die cutter, and the PowerLam laminator. MGI also manufactures a Photobooks solution.

Raj Dang, general manager of GBC Australia says , “The agreement will be beneficial for both companies as MGI has a range of products that fit well with the services provided by GBC Australia. In addition MGI products are suited to speciality printing markets such as plastic cards and magnets.”

GBC Australia, which has 80 sales representatives and 45 service technicians will provide support for the full range of products including its newest products such as a digital spot UV varnishing machine and a photobook solution, which are due to be released next month and early next year respectively. The project will be headed by Grant Churchill, national marketing manager, document print & finishing solutions at GBC.

GBC Australia provides equipment, supplies and service for document binding, laminating, printing, shredding and mail processing.
