DMM begins acquisition trail

Direct Mail & Marketing has begun its quest to become a full service marketing company with the acquisition of Gold Coast printer AYMS.

DMM general manager Scott Allen says the acquisition fills gaps in its creative, design, and project management services for smaller brands, and will streamline some of its processes.

“Not only do we have access to a completely new customer base but we can build on the AYMS selling and marketing methodology and bring this to our existing DMM customers,” he says.

“The expanded production capability and offering will significantly enhance the products that can be offered to AYMS customers and also introduces other forms of communication outside of just printed direct mail campaigns.”

Allen says AYMS provides direct marketing communications to the optical and veterinary sectors and compliments DMM’s customer base.

All production will move to DMM’s Melbourne facility with four staff including directors Geoff and Mike Long remaining on the Gold Coast doing design and sales.

The pair say joining with DMM gives them access to the most advanced systems and technology in the market.

“The ability to send integrated campaigns with strategic emails to reinforce direct mail then a timed SMS to drive the message home really expands our offering to clients,” they say.

“It’s a big win for independent businesses giving them access to the same quality marketing as fortune 500 companies.”

Buying AYMS is part of an effort to position DMM as a one-stop-shop for direct marketing needs, instead of clients just seeing it as a mailhouse or a printer.

It is doing this by expanding its services to include data collection and management, automated marketing, email and mobile in addition to print and direct mail.
