Doors open today at PrintCom and Visual Impact

PrintCom and Visual Impact Image Expo are co-locating at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre on 24-26 September.

The vast array of exhibitors include Colour Graphic Services (PrintCom, stand I7), which will offer a range of colour solutions in partnership with Alan Dresch from UK firm Mellow Colour.

There will be demonstrations of PrintSpec, which allows printers to match print to ISO 12647, and InkSpec, a system designed to provide systematic, measurable production control of special and brand colours.

Colour Graphic managing director David Crowther said: “We are looking forward to a busy and vibrant show. We are chuffed that Alan Dresch has found time in his busy international schedule to support at the exhibition and afterwards for colour quality support work at key accounts.”

GMG (Visual Impact, stand D2) will show the latest generation GMG ColorServer with SmartProfiler at the Roland DG stand.

This technology integrates with existing workflows, printers and RIP software to allow printers to achievable repeatable colour appearance across all wide-format printers and ink systems.

EFI will debut the QS2 Pro UV hybrid printer on the stand of inkjet distributor DES (Visual Impact, stand D14), while two entry-level wide-format printers will feature on the booth of distributor Spicers (PrintCom, stand H9).

The QS2, which was launched at Drupa, caters to the increasing demand from display producers, photo labs and sign makers for higher image quality capabilities at production level speeds.

The T1000 UV is geared to traditional signage and specialty markets, while the H652 UV hybrid solution can produce applications ranging from banners and billboards to posters and point-of-purchase graphics. Both feature white ink capabilities and grayscale high-resolution print quality.

Starleaton Digital Solutions (PrintCom, stand H5) will feature “Australia’s most comprehensive range of printable materials for every kind of glass”.

Seal Graphics will use Starleaton’s stand for the global release of an all-new laminator, the Seal 65EL. Firms that place an order at the show will receive the laminator for less than $12,000.

Workflowz (PrintCom, stand J8) will work with technology partner Chili Publish to promote its online document editor, Chili Publisher.

Publisher suits print managers, point-of-sale printers, web-to-print service providers and agencies looking after brand management. It can be embedded into web-to-print solutions like Tharstern’s e4print Pro.

The show will be open from 10am to 5pm on Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday, it will open at 10am and close at 4pm.

The Printovation Awards will be held tonight.
