Economic concern prompts Qld forum

Neal McLary, general manager of Printing Industries Queensland says the forum will aim to facilitate some sharing of thought, information and advice within the industry to assist develop strategies for survival in today’s difficult economic conditions.

He says, “Economic data suggesting that the Queensland economy is the most under-performing of the nation is a major concern and we need to find out the extent our industry is being impacted and how to fix or at least minimise the impact.

“We need to identify the most important issues, agree on why margins are being cut to the bone, identify what costs should be being passed on to customers rather than being absorbed by business and learn from what other industries are doing.”

The forum will be facilitated by Stephen Michell, Partner – Business Recovery, with HLB Mann Judd. Michell conducted the Printing Industries national forum in 2009, and will bring new lessons and concepts to this year’s event.

The forum will be held on Wednesday September 8 at the Allan Border Field, Albion. McLary continues, “This forum is all about your industry, your business and your future prosperity – all of which are excellent reasons for attending.”
