Leveraging the newest version of EFI Colorproof XF, renowned for its outstanding performance, colour quality, flexibility and intuitive interface and winner of the 2007 Bertl's Best Wide Format Pre-press/Proofing Solution Award, Colorproof XF for Flexo includes exclusive new features for the packaging industry, and offers M (up to 17"), XL (18"-24") and XXL (25"-44") output options.
Stefan Spiegel, general manager, Graphic Arts Solutions, EFI says, "Our new Colorproof XF for Flexo supports EFI's objective of continually introducing innovative solutions that address our customers' needs and deliver increased automation, efficiency and cost savings. Colorproof XF for Flexo comprises several significant benefits to help customers in the packaging industry print to win."
Among the new solution's highlights, Colorproof XF for Flexo provides the ability to create halftone screened inkjet proofs based upon the actual imaging engine used to create proofs. Exclusive to Colorproof XF, this feature allows customers to achieve the most challenging dot proofs possible in inkjet to simulate virtually any packaging scenario. Additionally, Colorproof XF for Flexo, optimised for the packaging industry, can accept any form of 1-bit data and maintain the integrity of the screening on the inkjet proof. Defining flexibility in inkjet proofing workflow for packaging, EFI claims Colorproof XF for Flexo is the only mainstream packaging proofing solution that can accept AM, FM and Hybrid 1-bit tiff files., and the company says Colorproof XF for Flexo is the only solution available with built-in "Final Run Characteristics" specific to packaging. This feature makes it easy to simulate packaging characteristics, such as the ability to define the first printable dot for flexo or to simulate missing dots in halftone screens for gravure.
ColorProof XF for Flexo will be distributed through DES in Australia. Its sales director Russell Cavenagh says, "Packaging printers and designers now have access to exclusive packaging-specific features. Coupled with industry standards such as the built-in Adobe CPSI rip, ICC colour management and ISO certification, EFI and Bestcolour have again improved on an already outstanding proofing product. Client/server architecture and the ability to run on either a Mac or PC means we can integrate into all IT environments with ease."
