New features are claimed to extend its application range and improve media handling.
Simon Trytell, EFI Australia and New Zealand inkjet sales manager, said: “One of the most exciting features is the use of laser sensors to produce near-perfect registration for double-sided printing.
“This option helps automate double-sided banner production by eliminating the labour required to manually align front to back images, which in turn helps reduce material waste as well as reducing production time,” he added.
A temperature control unit on the platen is also designed to allow printing onto lower cost and heat-sensitive substrates.
“The QS3250r has expanded the number of capable applications for UV roll-to-roll printing at a very cost-effective price,” said EFI Vutek general manager Dick Wissenbach.
Applications for the 172sqm/hr 1,080dpi machine include point-of-sale, interior and exterior posters, signage, fleet graphics and digital wallpapers.
The machine is distributed locally through DES.
