Epson large format printers win iF Design Award 2020

Epson’s Surecolor SC-P7500 and Surecolor SC-P9500 large format printers have been named iF Design Award 2020 winners by Hanover-based iF International Forum Design GmbH.

Created in 1953, the iF Design Award is recognised globally as one of the most prestigious awards for innovative industrial product design excellence.

Products are evaluated based on a wide range of criteria, including practicability, workmanship, consideration of environmental standards, degree of elaboration and innovation, functionality, usability, safety, aesthetics and universal design.

As successors of the Surecolor SC-P9050V and SC-P9050G, regarded highly as the industry standards for reproducing high-quality images in fine art, proofing, and photo laboratories, Epson said that these products won the award for their functionality.

“[They] provide the functional operability of high-quality professional tools, such as internal lighting to immediately check printed material and a neutral colour that does not interfere when making colour adjustments,” Seiko Epson Corporation said in a statement.

Epson solutions have also recently won other awards.

In November last year, Epson has won the 2019 Good Design Award for a total of ten products, which includes five printers, four projectors, and one watch. The five printers that won awards consist of home and office printers, as well as large format printers.

The Epson designs recognised with 2019 Good Design Awards and sold in Australia include:
· EcoTank Mono printers: ET-M1170, ET-M1180, ET-M2170, ET-M3170 and ET-M3180
· Large-format printer: SC-T5460M
· Large-format printer: SC-F560
· Large-format printer: SC-P7560 and SC-P9560
· Projector: EF-100W, EF-100B, EF-100WATV and EF-100BATV
· Projector: EH-LS500W and EH-LS500B
· Projector: EB-L1070U and EB-L1075U

Epson also was recently awarded a gold rating for its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility for the third-year running, with global president Minoru Usui saying this is at the “heart of everything we do”.

The 2019 gold rating by global independent assessor EcoVadis reflects Epson’s commitment to achieving the highest possible international Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) standards and acknowledges Epson as being outstanding in sustainable procurement and reflects its achievements in labour and human rights and its work to preserve the environment.
