Sydney firm Bear Designs has produced an "old-school" order of signwritten awnings for a Kuwaiti restaurant.
Owner Brett East said the seven awnings were dispatched on 28 October and would be hung at a new International House of Pancakes franchise.
East told ProPrint the job was valued at about $4,500. He said the restaurant expected to order 200 awnings, which would suggest this could turn into a $125,000 order.
He said the five-staff operation did some fleet-marking for New Zealand customers but that this was the first time it had done a job for a client outside Australasia.

East was surprised when the job landed on Bear's door. A nearby manufacturer of shade cloth products, Brett's, made the awnings and then struggled to find a firm to do the signwriting, he said.
The awnings were made from heavy-duty canvas to withstand the severe Kuwaiti heat. Each colour involved four coats, he said.
"It's all signwritten by hand. It's purely old-school signwriting," he said.
"It was a little bit different. They're time-consuming being canvas because they're not smooth. It was a fiddly job and took forever."
East told ProPrint that Bear had also just finished wrapping a VW Crafter van with Avery Dennison 1005 for That Fone Shop.
