Flexy-S offers flexible label printing

The new Flexy-S will handle paper, self-adhesive, plastic film and light card, from 11 up to 400 microns and is capable of printing at speeds up to 200metres/min. The Flexy-S is also equipped with ground breaking electronics, having fully servo driven transmission on each print unit.

Apart from the usual high quality UV flexo print capability, the Flexy-S also has a screen cassette that is interchangeable with all the units, cold foil applications with overvarnish, hot foil, and inline finishing for the production of all types of labels.

The Flexy-S’s machine compactness and register stability allow very low runs without wasting material. The new operator’s interface panel ensures digital visualisation of all production and safety parameters of the machine and the possibility of having in-line flexo, silk-screen, hot and cold-foil units guarantees an extreme flexibility in the production environment.

Sporting duel servo motors on each printing unit, one for the plate-holding axis and one for the printing unit, the Flexy S gives the operator a tighter control of register and pitch due to the encoder resolution being on the same axis as the print motor.

The exhibition of the Flexy-S in Chicago allowed Omet and its North American agent Matik to demonstrate some of the many printing possibilities this machine offers, including printing on polypropylene at a speed of 150 m/min with perfect registration.

Omet also promoted the company’s Varyflex line of presses at labelexpo. The Varyflex line features servo drive and sleeve technology to allow even faster job changes and use of a wider range of substrates. Some important new developments have recently been introduced to the Varyflex line, such as CCP (Constant Control Pressure), which keeps printing pressures constant even on variations in format, without the need to adjust the set up, and the revolutionary AVS (Advanced Vision System), which, provides an intelligent register check for immediate set ups at each job change interruption.
