Ward took over last month from executive chairman Charles Garrard, who has been handling the company over the past 12 months. Garrard will now transition back to a non-executive role.

Ward said that Peter Clark also remains as a director of the company.

Ward told ProPrint his arrival was unlikely to bring any major change at the company, though admitted “it’s very early days”.

“At this stage, it’s pretty much business as usual,” he said.

“The company is well run and it’s got a good cost structure. Now we just have to ensure that we continue sales growth and delivering the best service to our customers.”

Ward worked in Amcor’s packaging division for more than 16 years in a variety of roles.
