Garry Muratore joins Canon

Canon Australia has appointed industry veteran Garry Muratore as its product manager for display graphics in a move that will see Muratore support wide format sales for the supplier.

According to Canon, Muratore has been as the ‘bleeding edge of technology’ throughout his forty-year career in the print industry, his appointment set to support the wider Canon sales team in the large format division.

As product manager, Muratore will push wide format machines including the Arizona range, ProCut cutting tables, Oki Colorpainter printers, Onyx, Procut and Engview workflow solutions and a range of consumables.

“I got to see the Canon range first hand at drupa recently and realised quickly this was an organisation I wanted to be a part of, and now that is a reality,” says Muratore.

Manager for display graphics at Canon Adrian Morris says Muratore’s appointment comes after a short vacancy in the position, and his career spanning four decades identified him as the right man for the job.

“We are after dedicated, experienced and passionate staff who really understand the markets and customers we support. With a recent vacancy in this key role, we sought out only the highest calibre candidates and Garry Muratore was the clear choice,” says Morris.

“We welcome Garry to our growing business and I am sure he will excel in all aspects of the role.  This is an exciting time for Canon and our customers.”

Canon is a major player in wide format, with the Arizona the country’s biggest selling flatbed printer.

Muratore was Agfa’s long time marketing manager, and was responsible for launching the company''s own entry into display graphics in Australia in 2005, before parting ways in 2009. Since then he worked with GMG among others.
