Government boosts print training funding

Printers can now receive up to 60 per cent in subsidies when sending staff to do nationally recognised training programmes.

Neal McLary, general manager Queensland, Printing Industries told Australian Printer, “PIAA has received in conjunction with the JPE government funding for two coursers being offered, Certificate IV in Frontline Management, and Certificate IV in Business Sales Management.”

McLary says, “Businesses that have less that one hundred employees are eligible for up to 60 per cent in subsidies for the cost of the course. The courses are part time and run for a period of 12 months.”

“Now that we have received funding, we want to see what the reaction is like in New South Wales before we start running it nationwide,” concludes McLary.
