Global press giant Heidelberg has appointed advertising strategist Karen Heumman to the its Supervisory Board in a worldwide company first.

Heumann is the founder of agency group thjnk AG which specialises in marketing and communications, and has 20 years of experience in international advertising agencies.

It is the first time Heidelberg has employed a Board member with advertising background, and Heumann is the third woman in history to be appointed.

Siegfried Jaschinski, chairman of Heidelberg’s Supervisory Board says the appointment of an advertising professional will strengthen the German company’s strategic realignment.

“We are pleased to welcome Karen Heumann to our Supervisory Board as an experienced entrepreneur,” says Jaschinski

Her wide-ranging expertise in brands and advertising and her experience in the printing industry will be of huge value to us during the ongoing realignment of Heidelberg.”
