Heidelberg enters roller market

Bill Wall, general manager Consumables, Heidelberg ANZ says, “With these rollers we have a great product that has been proven in markets throughout the USA and Europe. We’ve also been trialling the rollers on our presses in the Print Media Academy and with selected customers and we are extremely pleased with their performance”.

He continues, “From a quality perspective these rollers are at the top end of the market and are made from compounds that are world class and meet Heidelberg’s strict quality guidelines. The rollers can assist in the reduction of alcohol use in the printing process which is also a real positive.”

Wall believes the new rollers will come with a competitive price tag, adding that feature was part of the attraction in adding them to the Saphira range. He says, “Naturally they are supplied with the Heidelberg guarantee of service, support and back-up. Use our rollers and our consumables and Heidelberg will guarantee optimum performance of your press.”

Heidelberg will also provide its customers with some onsite press training if the press operators need assistance to change the rollers. Wall says, “The rollers are relatively easy to replace, but we also offer a roller fitting service carried out by our print instructors who can undertake a press health check at the same time to ensure presses are working to their optimum.”

He adds that Heidelberg will provide a service where the customer pays for the rubber only, and will carry a full complement of rollers for presses from A3 up to XL105 size. He says, “We can structure package deals that enables for the rollers to be paid for under a consumables package designed to meet the individual needs of each customer.

He concludes, “Heidelberg’s consumables business continues to grow exponentially. The interest in the new rollers has already shown us that this product is a welcome addition. We have already taken advance orders for complete decks from two and five colour presses and we anticipate the new rollers will only add to Heidelberg’s continued consumables success.”
