Heidelberg extends range with PM 52

According to Heidelberg, this press is characterised by simple, direct operation, exceptional print quality and high reliability in production. It is available in one- to five-colour models with a range of accessories to enable customers to tailor the press to their needs.

The Printmaster PM 52 works at a maximum speed of 13,000 sheets per hour, a maximum print format of 360mmx520mm, and compatibility with printing stock thicknesses of between 0.03mm and 0.4mm.

All control and monitoring functions are operated by button-press from the PressControl control panel. Circumferential and lateral registers, the ink fountain roller and the dampening ductor can also be controlled remotely from this panel.

The PM 52 also features the EasyPlate plate clamping system, with automatic positioning run. According to Heidelberg, this technology allows the operator to change the printing plate quickly and with complete register accuracy.

The high-volume 18-roller inking system can handle demanding print motifs, while the optional short-path inking mode also helps to reduce the reaction time to a minimum when working on jobs with low ink consumption, while the Alcolor direct continuous dampening system facilitates speedy and stable ink/water balance.

The Heidelberg Printmaster PM 52 will make its first public appearance at GraphExpo in Chicago between September 29 and August 1.
